At present, the primary economic focus for the Slocan Property is for the discovery of an economic flake graphite deposit. As evidenced by the nearby Hoder Creek-Black Crystal graphite deposit (Minfile occurrence 82FNW-260)owned by Eagle Graphite Corporation, there is good potential for the discovery of a similar deposit on the Anglo Swiss – Slocan property. The Slocan property is underlain by similar horizons of metamorphic rocks as those seen on the Black Crystal property. There are also known graphite occurrences seen at the Tedesco zone, located at the northwest part of the Slocan property. To date, there has only been cursory exploration work carried out over the Tedesco graphite showings area. In terms of local infrastructure, the nearby graphite processing facility owned by Eagle Graphite Corporation significantly enhances the economic viability for development of a graphite resource on the Slocan property. Future exploration of the graphite potential of the Slocan property, should take into account several factors or considerations. Firstly, there are known graphite occurrences on the Slocan property in the Tedesco area. The area of these showings, which can be traced for one to two kilometres, needs to be more fully examined and explored. Presently, there is no clear understanding of the overall dimensions of the mineral zones or of the nature of the geologic horizons hosting the graphite mineralization at the Tedesco graphite zone. To this end, it is recommended that a small drill program be carried out at the Tedesco graphite zone to test the geological continuity, thickness of mineralized horizons and to determine the overall graphite concentrations within the host horizons. The 2008 IP survey indicates a fairly distinct northerly to northeasterly trending chargeability response that possibly indicates a zone of conductive continuity between the 2008 grid area and the area of the Tedesco graphite showings. It is recommended that several drill holes be drilled in areas of strongest IP chargeabilty response on the 2008 geophysics grid area. If minerlization encouragement is located in such drill holes, further drilling should be extended along the trend of the highest chargeabilty response, towards the area of the Tedesco graphite zones. Although the three 2008 drill holes provided useful geologic information, it is believed that the drill holes were drilled well outside the area of prospective economic concentrations of graphite mineralization, as indicated by the location and strength of chargeability response on the nearby grid area. At least one drill hole should be drilled to test the cause of the strong magnetic response seen at the east side of the 2008 geophysics grid, between lines 350 N to 600N (See Fig. 9). Finally, the timing for future exploration on the Slocan property will ultimately be determined by world market demands for graphite, at any given time. |
